Rolex Perpetual Padellone
When times align

Rolex expands the Perpetual collection through the addition of a watch with an instantaneous complete annual calendar: the Perpetual Padellone, which brings precision and poetry together in a new way.

This new watch is proposed in 18 kt Everose gold with a grained-finish, intense white dial and a Settimo bracelet, fitted with a concealed Crownclasp. It is also available in a 950 platinum version, featuring a grained-finish, ice blue dial and a matte black alligator leather strap with a Dualclasp. A third version, crafted in the same gold as the first and also adopting a grained-finish, intense white dial, is mounted on a matte brown alligator leather strap equipped with a Dualclasp.

Instantaneous-jump mechanism

Two technical features of the Padellone’s complete calendar stand out. Firstly, it is annual: thanks to the patented Haplos system, the mechanism differentiates between 30-day and 31-day months. This means that it requires only one adjustment a year, when February turns to March.

Secondly, it is instantaneous: at midnight, the day, date and month change simultaneously in a fraction of a second – a feature for which a patent application has also been filed. The day and the month, written in English, appear in two apertures at 12 o’clock, while a blue hand with a crescent moon at its tip points to the date set out around the dial circumference.

Moonphase disc
Poetry in motion

The moonphase of the Padellone is displayed at 6 o’clock on a fully visible blue enameled disc, which makes one complete rotation every lunar month, or 29.53 days. The full moon and new moon are crafted in meteorite, the second of the two treated with a dark blue PVD coating. The face on each moon is pad printed.

Harmonious case
Inherited refinement

The Padellone is housed in a 39 mm case, with graceful lines and a transparent back that allows the detailed aesthetics of the movement to be admired. The middle case features correctors on the sides for the calendar functions, and the curve of the lugs is highlighted thanks to a gentle chamfering on their top edges. The bezel is divided – the lower part enhanced with elegant fluting and the upper part domed. Made of sapphire, the domed crystal and the transparent case back benefit from an anti-reflective coating. Guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 165 feet (50 meters), the case provides optimal protection for the movement nestled inside. It is crafted in 18 kt Everose gold or 950 platinum.

The choice of excellence

The Padellone in 18 kt Everose gold is fitted on a Settimo bracelet or a matte brown alligator leather strap. In its 950 platinum version, the watch is paired with a matte black alligator leather strap.

The Settimo bracelet exudes refinement and elegance and feels particularly lightweight. With a special system to attach it to the middle case, for which a patent application has been filed, this metal bracelet is furnished with a concealed folding Crownclasp, ensuring seamless visual harmony across its surface.

The Padellone’s matte brown or matte black alligator leather strap has a green calfskin lining and tone-on-tone stitching. It is equipped with a Dualclasp, a double folding clasp.

Caliber 7190
Cutting-edge technology

At the heart of the Padellone beats caliber 7190, protected by 30 patent applications, two of which are exclusive to it. This movement at the cutting edge of horological research stands out for its frequency of 5 hertz. It is based on the design of caliber 7135, unveiled on the Land-Dweller at the watch’s launch in 2025, and benefits from the same pioneering regulating system, composed of the high-performance Dynapulse escapement and a state-of-the-art oscillator. The mechanism of the annual calendar integrated within caliber 7190 is particularly innovative and reliable.

Superlative Chronometer
certification

The Perpetual Padellone is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification. This exclusive designation is issued to each watch leaving the Rolex workshops, attesting to its excellent performance on the wrist. This in-house certification is strictly controlled by internationally recognized, independent Swiss entities.

Since 2026, the Superlative Chronometer certification has included three new testing criteria: resistance to magnetism, reliability and durability. These criteria are implemented throughout the design and manufacturing stages of each timepiece – hundreds of checks and validations directly related to the watch’s performance are carried out during these phases. They supplement the criteria established when the certification was redefined in 2015 governing precision, waterproofness, self-winding and autonomy. That year, Rolex set up an exclusive testing protocol for its finished watches, conducted inside the manufacture on fully automated equipment. The precision requirements are particularly stringent: measured after casing the movement – officially certified as a chronometer – the watch’s accuracy must be between –2 and +2 seconds per day. The rate deviation tolerated by the brand for the precision of a finished watch is significantly smaller than that accepted for official certification of the movement alone.

The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
